Welcome to week 6 of the One Room challenge! Only 2 weeks to go. For a refresher of my progress, check out week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4 and week 5. Take a look at my reel for some more behind-the-scenes into this week's progress.

I have not been able to stop thinking about this floral Schumacher fabric (Enchanted Garden in Aqua) ever since I found it in their showroom, which I unfortunately learned was out of my project budget. Although this may be frowned upon by Schumacher... I decided to get creative and make a pillow out of the two generously sized free swatches that I was sent, which turned out to be a perfect size for my vintage chair. I had my favorite quirky little upholstery shop in town make my pillow dreams into a reality, as well as reupholstered the existing cushion for the vintage chair (which was a worn brown velvet) with a beautiful coral textured fabric from Fabricut (Strohiem Jackie 01). I am so pleased with how it turned out.

I then painted the walls of the room with Farrow & ball’s Au Lait (using a Benjamin Moore color match) transforming the walls from a blue-white to warm and creamy. It already makes the room feel so much more inviting and compliments the green ceiling much nicer. Painting the walls turned out to be MUCH easier than last week’s episode of painting the ceiling which I was very grateful for.

We also had my wall task lamps and ceiling fixture wired and hung by an electrician. I love how the natural raffia on the ceiling light (from Crate & Barrel) looks against the green and how the scalloped edge leaves a beautiful light pattern on the green ceiling when lit. I am so pleased with how everything is coming together.

2 weeks left! Stay tuned for next week when I am painting the high gloss green trim and hanging the shades (so excited!). As always, also stay up to date on what others are up to over on the One Room Challenge website.
